PINEY WOODS HISTORY
pieces of the past in Northwest Florida
Howdy . . .

My name's Bill--welcome to my website.  Come on in and sit a
spell.

I've created this to make an online place for the forgotten
history and people of the Panhandle . . . things you didn't learn
in school . . . stuff your grandparents might not have
mentioned . . . sometimes pretty surprising information.  I
want to preserve and share what I've learned over the years in
the course of researching my family's roots in Holmes,
Washington, and Walton counties, and what others have
generously shared with me.

I hope you enjoy reading and learning here.  It's the kind of
site that will always be a work in progress, as I continue to
learn more, and find links to other good sources of information,
so check back from time to time for updates.  If you've got any
good stories, photos, or family trees you'd like to share, send
them on.

To understand who and where we are in the present, I think it's
very important to know what's
true and real about the past, and
what's not--and to honor and remember all of those who came
before us and gave us life.  Click the tabs above to get started.

I don't live in Florida, and I don't have all the answers about
everything posted here--I'm just sharing what I have. Enjoy.

Bill
The past is never dead.
It's not even past.
